Welcome one and all to my newbie guide. Hope the new players get something out of this, and if anyone else would like to add something in, please feel free to reply and contribute.
First off: Picking a character.
There are a lot of different races to choose from when you first begin the game. The first thing you should probably know, is that there are 3 different kinds of transformations available to all of these races.
The first type: Non-Permanent Transformations.
Non-Perms are any race with Transformations that are not permanent. This means that once you achieve the necessary requirements for a certain transformation, you can trans and revert at will.
Non-Perm races are: Changeling, Demon, Half-Saiyan, Human, Kai, Galactic Warrior, Makyo, Saibaman, and All 3 Saiyan Gene types.
The second type: Permanent Transformations.
Permanent Transformation races (Permies, perms, etc.) are any race whose transformations are all permanent. As soon as the requirements for a trans are met and the Transform verb is used, you can never revert from this transformation again. All of these races are given a revertable power-up called 'Invert Power' that they can use up until the point where they use their first transformation.
Perm races are: Ultimate Hybrid, Majin, Konat, Dragon, Namekian, and Android.
The third type: Semi-Permanent Transformations.
Semi-perms, Semis, etc. are a mixture of the previous two types. The first two transformations of both Semi-Perm races are permanent and cannot be reverted. The final transformation for both are revertable, though even after the final transformation has been obtained it is still not possible to revert past your second form.
Semi-Perm races are: Bio-Android and Tuffle
All 3 types have advantages and disadvantages. It's up to you which race you want to pick.
Second: Training
After you've decided on your race and created your character, the first thing you should do is train. Though it seems a bit redundant to say so, all commands related to training can be accessed through the 'Training' tab in the top right corner of your screen.
Self-Train: A solo training method. The experience gains are much slower than Dual Train, but you gain more Training Points in the same amount of time.
Dual-Train: This is a partner training method. You can only do this with another player-controlled character (Not an NPC). The experience gains for DT are noticeably better than those for Self-Train (About 2x?), but the amount of Training Points you gain is also noticeably smaller(About 1/3).
Rest: When your fatigue hits 100%, you will no longer be able to train and will be KO'd when you try to walk. Use the rest command to recover your fatigue back to 0% and continue training.
There are several other commands that can be accessed by standing near certain machines. These machines are used to train one specific stat. I won't list which machine does what as it is painfully obvious by right-clicking them. (There are no machines for gaining Power Level, but training with a Ki Def machine will give you Ki as well as Ki Defense.)
Training Points: You'll probably notice that these will start to stack up pretty quickly. What are they used for, you ask? They can be used to increase any stat of your choice by a fixed amount. If you head to the Yamcha NPC (A short walk on the Western path from the starting area) you'll be able to speak with him and use them.
Personally, I recommend saving your Training Points until later on when you know what you need to use them on.
That's all for this 'short' New Players' Guide (It dragged on for a bit longer than I originally intended )
Hope you can get something useful out of this Guide, and have fun
